UPDATE 8/24/07: Eddie Drummond, a Pro Bowl return specialist in 2004, was released Thursday by the Detroit Lions. The transaction was announced by the Lions' public relations department. There was no immediate comment from coach Rod Marinelli.

UPDATE 8/7/07: The brass could have quite a debate about Drummond before cutting the roster to 53 on Sept. 1. Drummond hasn't starred since his Pro Bowl year. He must run with abandon while avoiding the injuries that have plagued him. If he doesn't prove indispensable on return and coverage units during the preseason, he could be released.
